Terms of Service

Last updated 27 September 2026

OneMessage is run by volunteers for the community it serves. These terms set out what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. Please read them before using the app.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using OneMessage you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Who may use OneMessage

3. Your account

4. What the service is — and is not

OneMessage is a free, volunteer-run coordination tool. It helps a community organise a meal. It is not a restaurant, a delivery company, or a commercial service, and you are not buying anything.

Food is not guaranteed. Voting yes in the nightly poll registers your need; it is not an order and it does not create a contract. Deliveries depend on volunteers, donations, weather and traffic. On some nights there may be no delivery at all.

5. How to behave

You agree not to:

The full expectations for chat are in our Community Guidelines, which form part of these terms.

6. Your content and moderation

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting in a group you give us permission to store and display it to that group so the app can work.

Group chat is not private and is not end-to-end encrypted. Other members and admins can read it.

Any member can report a message or block another member from inside the app. Moderators — zone admins for their own zone, and super admins — can delete a reported message or stop a member posting in a group. We may act on reports, or on our own initiative, without notice where something is seriously wrong.

7. Donations

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove your access, or stop you posting in a group, if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where it is needed to protect someone. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why. You can ask us to review a decision by writing to the address below.

You can stop using OneMessage at any time by deleting your account.

9. Intellectual property

The OneMessage name, logo, design and software belong to us. Qur’an text, translations, du’a collections and prayer-time calculations come from third-party Islamic content sources and remain theirs; they are provided in the app for personal religious use.

10. Third-party services

OneMessage relies on services we do not control — SMS delivery, map and routing data, push notification delivery, and image hosting. We are not responsible for their failures or their own terms. Which providers we use, and what each receives, is listed in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

OneMessage is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular delivery will happen.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for missed or late deliveries, for inaccurate arrival times or prayer times, or for anything another member posts.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for material changes we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use OneMessage after a change means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
