Delete your account

You can delete your OneMessage account yourself, from inside the app, in under a minute. You do not need to email us or wait for approval.

Deletion is immediate and real. Your account record is erased, not deactivated or hidden. Afterwards, signing in with that number says no account exists — and the number is free to register again straight away.

In the app

Open OneMessage and sign in. You need to be signed in to delete your own account.
Go to Profile. Tap your avatar in the top-right of the home screen.
Scroll to “Delete account”. It is the last item, in red.
Confirm twice. We ask twice on purpose — this cannot be undone.

That is it. You will be signed out, and the account is gone.

If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to your number or cannot get into the app, email us from any address and we will delete the account for you:

Put “Account deletion request” in the subject and include the mobile number the account uses. We will verify that the account is yours before deleting it, then confirm by reply. We action these within 7 days, usually the same day.

What is deleted, and what is kept

We are specific about this because “delete my account” should not quietly mean “hide my account”.

Deleted permanently

Your account record itself.
Your name, address, gender and occupation.
Your password (already stored only as an unreadable hash).
Your notification token, so no further notifications can reach you.
Any pending profile-change requests.
Your membership of every chat group.
Any one-time passcodes tied to your number.
Any Sehri you had booked for tonight, so the kitchen does not cook a meal nobody will collect.

Your phone number is released

Immediately. Nothing is kept holding it in reserve, and you or anyone else can register with it again right away. This is the part most apps get wrong, so we made a point of it.

Kept, but no longer connected to you

Your past nightly answers. These become anonymous rows. They are the record of how many meals the community cooked on each night, and deleting them would corrupt that history for everyone else. They no longer identify you.
Donations and feedback you submitted. Detached from you in the same way — kept for our accounts and so that an open complaint does not vanish mid-review.
Messages you sent in group chat. They stay in the conversation so the thread other people took part in still makes sense, but are shown as from “Former member” with no link to you.

Want those removed too? Email us and say so. We will delete your past chat messages on request — it is just not the default, because removing one side of a conversation leaves everyone else with a thread full of holes.

How long it takes

Backups	Removed from routine backups within 30 days.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Uninstalling OneMessage removes it from your phone but leaves your account on our server. If you want the account gone, delete it first using the steps above, then uninstall.
