Child Safety Standards

Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) · Last updated 27 September 2026

Zero tolerance. OneMessage prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child. There is no warning and no second chance: the account is removed and the matter is reported to the authorities.

Scope

OneMessage is a community app for coordinating Sehri. The only place users can create content that other users see is zone group chat, which is text-only. These standards apply to that chat and to any other user-visible content in the app.

What is prohibited

How to report

Inside the app

  1. Press and hold the message.
  2. Choose “Report message”.
  3. Send it. A reason helps but is not required.

The message and the sender are sent to our moderators, and the reported person is not told who reported them. You can block them in the same step.

Directly to us

Child safety contact: onemessagedev@gmail.com

Put “CHILD SAFETY” in the subject line. Reports sent this way are prioritised ahead of everything else in our queue. You do not need an account to report to us.

To the authorities

Please also report it directly. You do not need to wait for us, and for anything urgent you should not.

How we respond

  1. Triage first. Child safety reports jump the queue ahead of every other report type.
  2. Remove the content as soon as a moderator confirms it.
  3. Remove the account. Not a posting ban — the account itself, permanently.
  4. Preserve the evidence. We keep the reported content and account records for the authorities, even though the content is no longer visible in the app. This is why our system stores a copy of a reported message that survives the sender deleting it.
  5. Report it. We report apparent CSAE to the relevant Indian authorities, including through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, and cooperate with any investigation and lawful request.

Preventive measures

Our team

Moderators are volunteers from the community. Anyone reviewing reports is briefed on these standards, on the requirement to escalate immediately rather than investigate themselves, and on not sharing reported material with anyone other than the authorities.

Compliance

These standards are published to meet Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and Apple’s App Review Guidelines on user-generated content, and to comply with Indian law, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
